Storing Vacation/Trip Memorabilia In Your Life Pages Spreads

Hello everyone!  I recently traveled to Maryland over spring break with my family and ended up collecting a bunch of fun ephemera such as receipts from our favorite stores and restaurants, Metro passes, tickets to shows and events we attended, and much more!  I wanted to document and store it all in my Life Pages album so I’m here today to share with you a few different ways to do just that.

First, I sorted all of the goodies from my trip by size and collected a few different types of page protectors to house all of my memorabilia.  I had a lot of brochures and pamphlets that were quite large so I altered a 12×12 page protector to store them in.

I simply took a ruler, an X-Acto knife, and a self-healing mat and cut a diagonal piece out of the top part of the page protector.  I slipped the self-healing mat inside of the protector so I wouldn’t cut through the back and guided my X-Acto knife along the edge of my ruler all the way across the page protector at an angle.  After I cut away the desired piece of plastic, I slipped a piece of patterned paper from May’s kits back inside of the protector.

I was left with a large pocket perfect to store all of my larger ephemera and pamphlets in which I added a few fun embellishments directly onto.

I used page protectors Design H and Design G to house my postcard sized and smaller memorabilia.  I layered a few letter stickers and sentiments directly onto the postcard from the lighthouse we visited and slipped the aquarium tickets we received into one of the 3×4 pockets below.

trip7 trip8Since we were gone on our trip over a week, I separated the protectors in my album by corresponding dates and also added in a few photos that I knew wouldn’t make it in to my actual Life Pages spread, but still told part of the story from our trip.

In this next page protector (Design G), I slipped our Metro passes, receipts from our favorite stores we visited, a spoon from the area’s local frozen yogurt shop, and our scorecard from a round of mini golf we enjoyed with some of our East coast friends inside.

And not all ephemera has to be paper!  My favorite item that I collected was the bright green spoon from the yogurt shop that I slipped into the 4×6 pocket of the protector, added a bit of sequins and confetti inside of, and sewed along the open edge to close it up.

I layered the “this & that” sentiment sticker directly onto the page protector housing my receipts, along with a few other sentiments from the DIY Clear Photo Stickers from Simple Stories.

Vacation season is upon us, so I hope I’ve given you a few new ideas on how to incorporate memorabilia from your next trip into your Life Pages spreads.  Thanks for stopping by and have a fabulous day!
